Yet another great musical evening at Muddy Waters in West Ashley.

First up was Matt Nakoa who played a wide selection of musical genres from acoustic through to Robert Johnson style blues.

Played guitar and piano. From acoustic to Robert Johnson style blues.

Ilyaimy are Rob & Heather and played a great set

Started with an african beat.

Humorous.

Had some shakers. She referred to them as a skull with the brains dried out. All in all another cool evening.

“Palmetto Acoustic was founded out of a love for music and a desire to create a community for independent artists and fans. The Palmetto Acoustic series is held at Muddy Waters Coffee Bar in Charleston, South Carolina. The venue is part beach cottage and part ski chalet with high beamed ceilings and hard wood floors creating a house concert vibe. Every other Thursday, Muddy Waters is transformed into a “listening room” where fans can enjoy original acoustic music while savoring the organic/fair trade coffees, beer and wine. These free concerts celebrate the poetic nature of the local, regional and national singer/songwriters as two artists each perform a 50 minute set of original music.”

If you’re in the Charleston area this evening, and feel like spending a couple of hours at a good venue, with some good music, and good coffee, you couldn’t do any better than to head along to Muddy Waters Coffee Bar on Ashley River Road in West Ashley.

Playing live tonight from 7.30pm are Kyle Schwarzwelder from Delaware, and Jenny Goodspeed from Massachusetts. Entry is free.

There are also panini, muffins, and chips if you get a little hungry, and a varied selection of bottled craft beers on offer
