News from The Deccas
We hope you survived the Christmas period and are looking to burn off those excess calories by coming along to one or more of the following gigs.
We’re at the start of what’s already looking like a fairly busy year kicking off with a live interview/studio appearance on the legendary Radio Caroline! We’ll be on Ray Copeland’s show from around 10pm on Monday 11th January playing a couple of songs live and chatting about the band. We also get the chance to do a “Desert Island Discs” and pick a track each. Go to www.radiocaroline.co.uk for listening info.
Saturday 16th January sees us return to Tommy Flynn’s on Camden High Street (nearest tube Mornington Crescent) for a drop of the black stuff and (we believe) four bands. Only a couple of quid to get in.
Friday 29th January we take a trip to the south east coast of Kent. The Deal Welfare Club and Social Institute is the venue and for just £1 (one single pound?!) you can catch us open the three band night that includes Autumn Few (formed from the ashes of the excellent Springtide Cavalry) and indie-ska quartet The Flack. We’re reliably informed that Deal/Dover area has a burgeoning live music scene so we’re expecting a full house and the bar will be reasonably priced too. Come on, first payday after christmas, let’s have it!
Saturday 30th January and if you can’t haul your asses down to Deal or, like us, fancy a second night of it we’ll be back at where we played our very first gig; Tap n Tin, Railway Street, Chatham. The Suburban Kings team always present a line up of great bands and this night will be no exception: The Deccas, Archie Wah Wah, The Lovedays and new act The Facades. There is also “secret unannounced guests”…. Entry will be around a fiver, you will not be disappointed.
That’s for starters, we have more gigs booked through to May(details will follow) so we hope to catch up with you soon.
All the best for 2010 folks!!
