The Deccas – Latest Gig News
Their third gig of the month(Thursday 26th March) is at the legendary West Kent venue The Forum in Tunbridge Wells.
This is part of a mini battle of the bands competition organized by JAM Foundation, an organization helping new and young bands, dedicated to the memory of Jake Alexander Moss, a young music fan tragically killed in a car wreck. Initially set up to promote bands from the Tunbridge Wells and Crowborough areas word quickly spread and The Deccas managed to get a place in the competition.
Two heats of five bands (they’re up against Blind Archers, Fans of Fiction, Where’s Billy and The Raquets) will sort the men from the boys with the semi final to be held on 9th April and Grand Final on 23rd April, St Georges Day! Door price is £6 or you can get tickets for £5 by visiting www.jamfoundation.org.uk
News From The Deccas
Salutations Deccas fans and friends!
We trust February has been kind to you and bring you details of our forthcoming activities in the hope you will join us on our musical journeys!
First up on Friday 6th March and kicking the month off in true Deccas style we’ll be back at The Command House in Chatham. Arranged by our friend Kirk; his band The Semantics will be starting the evening off with their mixture of indie covers and own material followed by fellow four piece DirectionS. We’ll be taking the headline slot! Door price is a mere £3 so poke the credit crunch and get down, and get on down!!
Next is our first of two charity-based gigs. On Sunday 22nd March, The Enigma wine bar in Rochester High St will play host to several bands all devoting their time to helping raise funds for Parklands Resource Centre in Gillingham. Medway Council has a dedicated Disabled Children’s Team that offers a range of flexible services to allow disabled children to remain living at home with their families. The team works in partnership with health and voluntary organisations to offer families appropriate services to meet their individual needs.
More information on the range of services available to parents and carers of disabled children from Parklands can be found by registering on Medway’s Positive Parenting Network (www.medwayppn.org). The centre also carries out individual work with children and families where social work input or respite provision is required. This will be a free to enter event with all donations being very welcome. Great quality food and drink will be available throughout the day.
