Well, we’ve been quiet enough on the old internet front for the last month; so we thought it time that we brought a bit of news your way! Following the release of our double A-Side single ‘talkovertalking | If not, the tide will change’ we’ve been enjoying some solid radio play both north and south of the border including plays on 2FM, Phantom Fm, Cool FM and BBC Radio One. Please feel free to email or text any of the DJs who have the single to keep us in their minds and let them know what you think! Contact details below. The single has also received some favourable reviews which is always nice!
Other than all of that, we are thick into the preparation for our forthcoming release, the highly anticipated debut album – ‘I’ve been here for ages’. Granted the anticipation is mostly on our part, but nonetheless… The album will feature all of our released singles as well as a number of previously unheard titles. We’re very excited about the release and can’t wait to hear what you all think of it! Release date is 3rd August 2009.

** ALBUM LAUNCH GIG – 6th AUGUST – MENAGERIE, BELFAST.. details to follow… **

To promote the album we’re finallising some dates throughout the North and South for the calendar so look out for a gig near you and please do drop down for a listen! We’ll be sharing the bill on some dates with our good friends Panama Kings and we’ll also be joining the cream of Northern Irish music in Draperstown for this year’s Glasgowbury Festival (25th July) and gracing the same stage as The Super Furry Animals and Ocean Colour Scene when we play the Mitchelstown Festival in Cork on 1st August. All current dates are up on our facebook, myspace and bebo pages –

We’re also in the midst of organising a launch party for the album (which will be available on itunes, amazon, napster etc, 3rd August) and we’re really hoping to throw a big one. So we’ll let you know as soon as we do. We’ll be roping in our favourite local bands to help on the night so expect a good lineup!
We’ll be in touch very soon to fill you in on everything else, so keep us close.
Big love PP.

12th June sees the release of two more Pocket Promise tracks;

-   TalkoverTalking
-  …if not, the tide will change

These songs will be released as a double A-side single and will be available from I-Tunes, Napster, Amazon and the other usual outlets from the 12th June. You can hear these tracks right now on our myspace page!

We will also be selling those old fangled compact discs of the single in Belfast’s record shops and at gigs…these cd’s feature the dazzling artwork from our very own Cormac III, making them all the more ownable.

The single release will be marked with a launch party/gig in Blackout @ Auntie Annies in Belfast, on the 12th June.

Starting the night off will be a performance from the truly marvellous Clown Parlour, check out their chiming pop goodness at http://www.myspace.com/clownparlour

We, Pocket Promise, will be playing the new singles mentioned above, some tracks from the forthcoming album and we’ll also have a few surprises/guests up our wizards’ sleeves..
Following the bands The Blackout DJs will be throwing out their crazy mixes well into the small hours, and dancing is approved. This is an early gig and Clown Parlour will be onstage at 9pm. Don’t arrive late and be disappointed! Doors are at 8pm and it’s £5 entry. Plenty of drinks promotions will be on offer on the night – so come and get merry. That’s a Friday night, so please no "its a school night’ excuses!
